Permissions

The exact admin rights the bot needs, and what happens without them.

Nudes Remover needs to be a group administrator with these rights:

  • Post messages — to reply with a moderation notice.
  • Edit messages — to update its own notice (for example, the debug-mode breakdown).
  • Delete messages — to remove the violating content. This is the right that actually does the moderation.
  • Restrict members — to ban a member automatically (Premium's auto-ban); without it, auto-ban silently can't act even if configured.

Adding the bot through the mini app's Add chat flow (see Adding to a group) pre-selects all four. If you add it manually, grant them yourself in the group's admin settings.

What happens without "Delete messages"

The bot still detects violations and still checks admins normally — it just can't remove anything, and Telegram silently refuses the delete call. Rather than posting a warning that content was found and then leaving it up (the worst of both outcomes), the bot:

  1. Stops attempting to moderate that group as soon as it hits the first refusal, so it isn't burning checks it can't act on.
  2. Sends the group owner a single direct message explaining the missing right — at most once every 30 days, so it doesn't nag.
  3. Resumes automatically, no reinstall needed, the moment the bot is promoted with delete rights again. Telegram announces the promotion to the bot directly, so there's no waiting period.

If moderation seems to have stopped working in a group, check that the bot is still an administrator with Delete messages enabled — Telegram admin rights can be changed or revoked by any other administrator of the group.

Checking violations by admins too

By default the bot skips messages from the group's own administrators. Turn on Check administrators in the bot settings to have admin-posted media checked and removed the same as anyone else's.
